New Term begins this week
Posted September 12, 2011 by SarahCategories: Uncategorized
The new term at NWGC begins this week with classes commencing on Tuesday 13th September.
The building work continues so it is best for now if you enter the gym from the fire escape doors at the car park side of the gym. Please remove your shoes on entering the gym from that side.
Please remember that fees are due on the first class of the term.
Goodbye Gordon!
Posted July 23, 2011 by SarahCategories: Uncategorized
One of our boys, Gordon, is moving on to Huntingdon Olympic Gym Club, where he hopes to train hard and become an elite gymnast. He has worked hard here with us, but would benefit from attending an all-boys class, which we do not currently offer.
We gave Gordon a “Good Luck” card and a small gift on Friday which was his last session with us.
Gordon has been at Neale-Wade for a number of years, and has been successful in numerous Regional Competitions, coming home with a clutch of medals – he started with a bronze the first time and picked up some golds this year. Gordon works really hard, and although he has fits of giggles occasionally, he takes gymnastics very seriously, spending a lot of time practising at home.
Good luck, Gordon; we are going to miss you and your cheeky grin!!
End of term

We have had a weekend of fun, organising an impromptu club competition for Friday night and Saturday morning classes – lots of chocolate for the winners, and a certificate of participation for everyone. Good work all round and a valuable experience for children who had not had a competition before.
The classes at Cromwell have been successful and we have adapted well to a different venue, so it has not been as big a challenge as we feared. Most children have attended, apart from a few who live too far to the north to travel that far. We’d like to thank everyone for their continued support during this upheaval. We plan to be back at Neale-Wade in September so we are hoping that the building work on the sports centre is completed on schedule.
The Holiday Club looks set to go ahead, although there are a few spaces still available if anyone would like to get in touch.

On Saturday 2nd July, 18 of our gymnasts competed in the County Floor & Vault competition held at Huntingdon Gymnastics Club. It was 17 girls and Gordon!
We had a long afternoon and the children were very well behaved. They did us proud, with 15 of them claiming at least a 4th place for either floor or vault. At this competition, certificates are awarded for the first four on floor and on vault, and then the scores are combined and the first three get a medal, 4th gets another certificate, for their overall position.
